Artspace, Peterborough’s artist-run centre, is seeking applications for volunteers to join our Board of Directors. Dedicated and enthusiastic individuals are encouraged to apply for a position with us. Being a member of the board is challenging; it requires commitment, leadership, decision-making, and integrity. Board meetings are held on a monthly basis (typically on a Tuesday at 6:30 pm), and members are expected to volunteer additional time sitting on committees, attending Gallery events, and support fundraising activities such as assisting with Bingo. We are a dedicated group of people. We thrive on the success of the centre and we have fun along the way.

Our mission as a non-profit, contemporary arts centre is to assist artists with the presentation of new work by emerging, mid-career, and established artists working across all disciplines. We change in response to the needs of artists and work to engage and inform the public about their work.

Ideal candidates will possess a strong interest in contemporary arts practices. Professional training in the arts is not required. Candidates must also be community-minded and possess good communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience in the not-for-profit sector or with other Artist-Run Centres is an asset. Interested individuals are asked to submit a letter, by Wednesday, June 6, 2018, outlining the skills and expertise they possess that would make them a valuable addition to our board. Drop your letter off in person at the gallery or email it to:
