What does my membership do for Artspace?

Artspace is a non-profit, charitable organization committed to nurturing the development and presentation of new work from artists of all disciplines and at all career stages. Your Artspace Membership supports the thought-provoking exhibitions and the wide-ranging public programming we offer to the Peterborough region all year round. From talks, tours, and workshops to screenings, performances, and artist residencies, Artspace is committed to serving its membership and the wider community through public engagement, exchange, and education, across all demographics; your contribution as a member helps us to achieve our programming goals. Your membership also supports the centre’s ongoing participation in national conversations and critical dialogues. Thank you for being a part of our community!

What does my membership do for me?

Come hang out at Artspace!

All members receive invitations to Artspace openings, workshops, and professional development activities. Membership fees make these events possible; as a paying member, you help us bring artists and experts to the space and develop new programming that nurtures local talent, spurs creativity, and enhances the health and vitality of Peterborough’s arts community. Events and workshops are open to everyone – so bring yourself and a friend!

Discounts and resources!

Access to the Artspace Library, Archives, and Media Lab is free for all members and Producing Members receive discounted rates on all rental equipment. Want to host an event at the gallery? All members are eligible for a 10% discount on space rental. The Artspace Portfolio Review is offered every year in conjunction with the free public talk on Applying to Exhibitions. This is your chance to ask questions, receive advice, and have your portfolio and application proposals reviewed by experienced Artspace staff in a one-on-one meeting. Portfolio Reviews are free for Artspace Members.

Which membership tier is best for me?

Artspace offers three membership tiers: Supporting, Producing, and Corporate.

For art-lovers and Artspace-supporters, we offer the Supporting Membership. With all the benefits of an Artspace Membership listed above, this tier is offered at three levels:

$45      Regular

$20      Student/Senior/Underemployed

$80      Family (for two adults living at the same address)

For supporters interested in renting equipment from the Artspace Media Lab, we offer the Producing Membership, which comes with all of the benefits of a Supporting Membership, plus discounted rates on equipment rental fees.

$80      Regular

$40      Student/Senior/Underemployed

For organizations and businesses interested in supporting the centre, we offer a Corporate Membership. All of the above mentioned perks apply. Corporate Members get one vote at the Annual General Meeting and 20% off space rentals.


Do I have to renew my membership every year?

Yes! The Artspace Membership Program runs on an annual basis and your membership is valid for the full year of purchase. All memberships purchased for 2021 will expire on December 31, 2021.

How do I become a member?

    • Option One: Order your membership through our Online Shop. Click here to purchase your 2021 membership.
    • Option Two: Download a 2021 Membership form (MemberForm2021) and mail it with your payment (cash or cheque) to Artspace at: PO Box 1748, 378 Aylmer Street North, Peterborough, ON, K9J 7X6.
  • Option Three: Come by Artspace to fill out a form and make your payment in person. Cash, cheque, and credit accepted.
